Southside Speakers meets twice a month - every second and fourth Thursday of each month, except July and August. Our meetings will be on the second and fourth TUESDAY of July and August 2008 - at 7.15pm.

Meetings run from 7.15pm until approx 9.30pm and are held at the lovely venue of Pollokshields Burgh Hall, 70 Glencairn Drive, Pollokshields, Glasgow, G41 4LL. We like to start promptly so most people arrive a short time before the meeting.

Our meetings have the following format:

An impromptu speaking session giving everyone the opportunity to handle "thinking and speaking on their feet" for about two minutes each.
 
Prepared speeches from three or four of the members, based on projects from Toastmasters’ Communication and Leadership manuals, either at CC (Competent Communicator) or AC (Advanced Communicator) levels.
 
An evaluation session, during which each speaker gets useful feedback about the strengths of their speech, and suggestions which will help them to improve.
 
Feedback on the evaluations, and the meeting as a whole, by a general evaluator.
 
Besides speaking, each member can serve as Toastmaster, Impromptu Question Master, Evaluator, General Evaluator etc. Assignments are rotated to offer everyone a variety of experiences.
